This year, Paradise will be showcasing a series of new video works by Melbourne-based new media artist, Xanthe Dobbie.
Many of Xanthe's works take the form of large-scale moving paintings, which merge contemporary internet and trash culture with loaded historical imagery.
Working across immersive audio-visual installation, Xanthe develops animated collages which are compositionally based around 14th and 15th century religious iconography.
Xanthe has exhibited widely across Australia in solo, collaborative and group shows, with work being included in Next Wave, Channels, and Gertrude Street Projection Festivals. She is a recipient of Creative Victoria and City of Melbourne Arts Development Funding, a member of the BLINDSIDE Board of Directors, and has been shortlisted as a finalist in the John Fries Award (2016) and the Macquarie Digital Portraiture Award (2014).
